A native of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jim Marrs earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of North Texas in 1966, and attended Graduate School at Texas Tech in Lubbock. He worked for several Texas newspapers from 1968 to 1980, with a brief leave of absence to serve in the Fourth Army intelligence unit during the Viet Nam War. He has taught a course on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy at the University of Texas since 1976. In 1989, his book "Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy" was published and within 3 years had gone into an eight printing, and was on the New York Times Best Seller list for 6 weeks in early 1992. It became the basis for the Oliver Stone film "JFK". In 1992, Jim began three years' researching and completing a non-fiction book on the psychic phenomenon known as remote viewing, only to have it mysteriously canceled as it was going to press. "Psi Spies" was finally published early this year. In May of 1997, Marrs' in-depth investigation of UFOs, "Alien Agenda" was published, and in less than two months garnered many positive reviews and was into its eighth printing. The paperback version was released in 1998, and has since become the top selling UFO book in the United States.
One of the country's leading researchers and authors has traced the hidden history that connects modern secret societies as documented in his latest book "Rule By Secrecy". Jim's current project, "The War on Freedom" addresses the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks. In this presentation, Jim addresses many of the issues from both books which are so critical in our lives today.
