Marcia specialized in Old Norse Literature and linguistics while doing graduate work at US Berkeley: spent a full year as a Fulbright Scholar in Copenhagen studying Nortic runic inscriptions; and sought to link continuities in verse form as evidence for a common Indo-European mythology. However, the need to prove a common origin for these mythologies became less relevant with recognition of the involvement of off-world influences.
