| Budd Hopkins pioneered the first systematic research into reports of human abductions by UFO occupants. Over the past thirty years he has worked with hundreds of abduction experiencers in the United States and abroad, uncovering recurring patterns of abduction activity and effectively initiating modern abduction research. Throughout the years Hopkins' goal has been to bring an objective, scientific intelligence to bear on this phenomenon, and has systematically collected data on the physical evidence. In pursuit of this goal, he founded The Intruders Foundation in 1989, a non profit organization devoted to research and public education concerning this extraordinary enigma. He is the author of Missing Time (1981), Intruders, (1987) a New York Times best-seller and the basis for a 1992 CBS miniseries, and Witnessed (1996). His latest book Sight Unseen, co-written with Carol Rainey, was released in 2003. Hopkins has appeared on hundreds of TV and radio programs, has lectured throughout the world.
David M. Jacobs, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of History at Temple University specializing in 20th century American history and culture. He began researching the controversy over unidentified flying objects in the 1960s,and has amassed over 38 years of research data and analytical hypotheses on the subject. In 1973 Dr. Jacobs completed his doctoral dissertation in the field of intellectual history at the University of Wisconsin on the controversy over UFOs in America. This was only the second Ph.D. degree granted involving a UFO-related theme. A revised version of his dissertation was published by Indiana University Press as The UFO Controversy in America (1975). For 25 years Jacobs has offered the only regular university course on UFOs. In 1992, his second book, Secret Life: Firsthand Accounts of UFO Abductions, was published. The Threat , published in 1998, presents the first evidence-driven hypothesis providing a falsifiable solution to the UFO mystery. In 2000, he published the edited book, UFOs and Abductions: Challenging the Borders of Knowledge with ten experts writing about the UFO and abduction phenomenon
TRANSGENIC BEINGS: Hopkins and Jacobs will discuss the emerging evidence for hybrids having an increased presence in normal society and even living among us. Through the years UFO and abduction researchers have collected and investigated odd stories of "aliens" living among us. These stories were ignored as not having enough credibility and evidence and as being suggestive of the spurious claims spun by 1950s contactees. In recent years, evidence from the abduction phenomenon has been building for the reality of an alien, i.e. hybrid, presence in normal society. They will reveal the evidence they have found for the presence of hybrids on earth and begin the serious debate about what this might mean.
